Taguchi Optimization In Machining Inconel 600 With WEDM Process Using Cryogenically Treated Brass Wire

Wire electric discharge machining (WEDM) is one amongst the unconventional processes which might cut all kinds of shapes with an accuracy +/?0.001mm. It will materials that conduct electricity and can even exotic metals like tungsten carbide, Hastelloy, Inconel etc. In present work, on 600 by wire EDM cryogenically treated brass performed. Brass 0.25mm diameter has been at ?90 ° C, ?100 C ?110 temperatures separately. An Experimental layout designed as per Taguchi’s L-9 orthogonal array experiments were conducted varying parameters viz. Voltage, Pulse ON time OFF time. The are optimized using methodology for minimum surface roughness maximum metal removal rate (MRR). A Mathematical regression model MRR generated help analysis. Through Analysis Variance (ANOVA) was found MRR, pulse foremost contributing factor 32.69% roughness, off 23.59%.
